The ranch is located on the site known as the “Battle of Brandy Station.” The Battle of Brandy Station was the first clash in the Gettysburg Campaign – June 9, 1863, and is known as the location of the “largest cavalry battle in "American history." A total of 18,456 horseman became involved in the fighting!!

The investigation of the privately-owned ranch located in the area known as "the Battle of Brandy Station" in Culpeper, Virginia was conducted by the NoVA-SPIs team and Ellen MacNeil and Beck Gann from the S.P.I.R.I.T.S. of New England team on April 13, 2013. The artifacts shown below were found in and around the property investigated using metal detectors. These items were used as trigger objects during the investigation. The photo of the horse shown above was taken by the client when the horse was standing still. The 'cloud' surrounding the horse is unexplained.
